Am loving todays date, 11/12/13. I like different!
And what a day, after the rough weather these last few weeks, todays mild and calm day was most welcome.
It all began with the most beautiful Sunrise, the sky was on fire. I could just make out two Stags silhouetted on the hilltop, so, I took a pew on the doorstep with me coffee and watched (After Photographing them of course).
It was a very pleasant and much needed 15min break.
Life is back to being pretty manic and stressful again.
I have some big decisions to make, they don’t need to be made just yet, but they are already preying on my mind and I am thinking about them a great deal.
Also, busy getting ‘The Wee Scottish Gallery’ established and learning, that Parcel Tape and me, are not a match made in Heaven!
Thinking, Learning, they are the two things I am constantly doing and find it very hard to switch off!
So, after taking latest TWSG Parcels to the Post Office, (with McBasil & the McNikon in tow), I would make a wee detour on the way home.
At 14c with some Sun and mind on overload, it was far too nice to be stuck indoors getting cabin fever, so I told McBasil to brace himself, as we were going to climb a hill!
I just felt that need!
Now I am not sure of the name of the hill, but it sits to the left of Loch Kanaird opposite to Ben Mor on the right, so for that reason, I call it Ben Less.
Anyhoo, we parked near Rhue and away we went.
McBasil would keep stopping and sitting down, just looking at the view and taking things in, almost deep in thought.
He is twelve and a half now and sadly seems to have aged rapidly of late.
With quite a few McB breaks, we continued to climb up.
Yes, I had obviously chosen the steepest route!
Could not believe how mild it felt, no jacket required and hardly any breeze.
The higher we went, the more we were rewarded with superb views of Loch Broom and looking back to Ullapool.
We could clearly see the Mast now (theres one near the peak), so I knew we weren’t that far off the top, just a wee bit more encouragement for McB (who am I kidding, he was doing better than me!).
We stopped walking on a boggy peat surface and was now on rock slabs, I could the see Cairn where others had been before us and within that minute we had reached it.
Why! Why had I not taken the time out to come up here before now?
But, we were here now and wow, how beautiful it was and how different things looked.
We would sit here for a while, just taking things in, I cuddled McB and pointed out our home to him.
Ben Less, had proved me wrong, he wasn’t less at all.
